1. Manuka Honey – The most healing food on the planets (kills infections instantly)

My mother actually taught me the healing properties of plants as a child when I lived with her. She always no matter where she lived, erected a food garden within weeks of moving in. One thing she told me was that honey kills germs and that no bacteria can live in it’s presence. This wisdom stuck with me. Her voice echoes long after her passing. To this day I drink honey tea every day! And especially now coming into Winter, I have the best on hand. Manuka honey…to fight off any potential health threat. In fact, the other day I had sniffles and a tickle in my throat, but dosing up on Manuka sorted it out straight away thankfully. I’m a toddler mum after all. I am needed:)

2. Olive leaf extract (oral spray) kills sore throat

I have Olive leaf extract on hand since I learned about it for the 100th time about a year ago. I thought to myself, ah well, I keep hearing about it, reading about it and having it suggested to me, so I should give it a try. So, Any time I have a throat tickle, I use the oral spray and it instantly gives relief. It’s a known immune system booster so It’s something I won’t go without now in my bathroom cupboard.

3. Essential oils: Immunity blend (Orange, lemon, cinnamon, clove, eucalyptus and rosemary) diffused and dabbed on wrists, neck and chest (lymphatic nodes)

I have blended my own essential oils, so I thought when I came across a number of blends specifically for the immune system, how brilliant it it would be to make my own at a fraction of the cost of the common brands only with Certified organic 100% pure essential oils. This is how my Immunity blend came about recently. And ever since, I have been diffusing it and massaging it onto my lymphatic nodes with a carrier oil. Knowing the change into Winter is the hardest on the immune system, I have been using this constantly and have certainly found it helpful…keeping the sniffles away!

You just know when you are fighting something, and I have been aware of my body working away behind the scenes to protect me over the last week or so. It’s comforting to know you can help it along!

4. Himalayan salt baths / Eucalyptus showers (a few drops on the floor)

Especially when you feel all congested as I have the last week, the peppermint and or eucalyptus drops on the shower floor have really helped! I have salts baths whenever I’m run down and depleted and I feel they have an incredible power to assist the body in replenishing the essential salts that get lost when we are fighting off infections.

5. Hot teas with loads of Lemon

I have at least 1 tea each morning. In winter I tend to have 2 or more, non caffeine containing teas. Dosing up on lemon vitamin c or orange juice is an unbeatable and well known yet far to forgotten remedy for the cold and flu season! Vitamin c if after all even used as an intravenous method of treating chronic illness and disease quite successfully. So why not use it as a preventative method instead.
